They say its "when" not "if." Get ready for disaster!
[Judi Steinman sent this in. Thanks Judi!]
As a former crisis counselor, I strongly recommend that you consider participating in this important disaster readiness/ response training program. Being prepared is the best reaction to disasters when they strike. Please distribute this information as you see fit.
Learn About Emergency Response Procedures and Understand Your Role and Function in the Event of a Major Disaster. Sponsored by The Hawai`i Fire Department and Hawai`i County Civil Defense
Did you know?
► Your neighborhood may be on its own during the early stages following a major disaster.
► After a major disaster, citizens will volunteer to help. Without proper training these people can expose themselves to potential injury, and even death.
► Experience has shown that basic training in emergency response and rescue skills improves the ability of citizens to survive until first responders or other assistance arrives.
“Practicing the skills I learned in the simulated disaster was great...the coordination of the trainers were fantastic! They are great role models of teamwork!”
